Privacy Policy

Hermes Personal Finance is a private personal-use bookkeeping prototype operated solely for its owner's use. There is no public account registration.

Information processed

When the owner explicitly connects a financial institution, the project may process account metadata, balances, transaction dates, transaction amounts, merchant or transaction descriptions, transaction categories, and connection status. It does not intentionally collect bank-login passwords through this website.

Purpose and use

Information is used only to maintain the owner's private ledger, categorize and reconcile transactions, generate personal summaries, detect duplicate or missing entries, and maintain the authorized connection.

Sharing and sale

Personal and financial information is not sold, rented, or used for advertising. Information may be transmitted to the financial-data connectivity provider and the connected financial institution only as needed to provide the authorized connection.

Money movement

The project is designed for read-only bookkeeping. It does not initiate transfers, payments, withdrawals, or other movement of funds.

Storage and security

Connection credentials and access tokens are kept outside this public website and are restricted to the private server process that requires them. Public pages do not expose account numbers, access tokens, bank credentials, or transaction records.

Retention and deletion

Records are retained only while useful for the owner's bookkeeping. The owner may disconnect a financial institution and delete locally stored financial records. The connectivity provider and financial institution may apply their own retention rules.

Privacy requests

Because this is a single-owner private project with no public users, privacy and deletion requests are handled directly by the application owner using the contact information associated with the corresponding financial-data provider account.

Changes

This policy may be updated if the project changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
